The name conjures up images and words,often times disjointed.Our nation was one that terrrible late summer day. We in our innocence and false security were ushered into a world of universal terror. We shall never forget those images.
Images - Looking at a surreal movie of thought ,action,heroism.For once athletes and singers are not heroes,but fireman and policemen are heroes.Images- We are not black or white - We are Americans. Americans walking aimlessly to get home.The simple things in life.Tuesday...Nothing never happens on Tuesday.

Thinking strange thoughts.How can two buildings be attacked? Who did it?
Will there be more?
Thinking....
They hit Washington D.C. my birthplace .Thinking ....Is my family okay?
Does Joe work at the Pentagon ? I can't call DC , the lines are overloaded.
Thinking ...Thats DC and NYC , I live in Dallas.
How can this all be? Thinking....We have tall buildings in Dallas too, are we next ?


Action
The cowards of humanity will never succeed when God is with us ! Emmanuel.

Ask that the Lord's Prayer is recited with them before they foil the deeds of the terrorists against America. No,it's the terrorists who strike humanity.My humanity trumps my nationality.

Labor Day Message : September 6 , 2010

Happy Labor Day !
As we go to the various picnics of the last weekend of this 2010 Summer,let's pause for a moment and reflect on American Labor. As a former elected labor leader,I served as a Chief Steward for Communications Workers of America Local 6215 this is an important day for me.

This day is solemn because the Labor movement has lost hundreds of brothers and sisters for the sake of protecting not only its memberships but that of all American workers.Those truths that we take as standards in the work place came off the backs of American labor.This day is joyous because we celebrate their victories.


The victories are taken for granted as if they always existed.
A litany of policies and rules were made because of the existence of organized Labor.The 8 Hour Day and the 5 Day work week are examples of what Labor has brought to the American workers. American Labor has changed throughout the years ,but one thing is constant the brothers and sisters of the movement have paid their dues for all Americans.

Happy Labor Day !
