Roland Burris Must Go

Roland Burris must go.Its no justice,no peace time again.Though it is doubtful that he actually paid for his Senate seat,he did indeed sold his honor out for the sake of political ambition.Honor should always be worth more than power.Burris through his lack of forthcoming honesty proved that dishonest politicians come a dime a dozen.Illinois deserves more, the country deserves more.

Rep. Jim Clyburn, the highest-ranking African-American member of the House, says Sen. Roland Burris (D-Ill.) should give up the thought of running for election and should leave the Senate quietly when his term ends after the 2010 elections.

“I probably see a lot of reasons for him to call this two-year stint a career in the Senate,” said Clyburn, the House majority whip. “I think if I were in his place I wouldn’t [run].”

But unlike his Senate counterpart, Majority Whip Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.), Clyburn said Wednesday he saw “no reason” for Burris to resign now, despite the controversy swirling around his appointment to the Senate seat.
