Palin vs. Biden : The Undercard

The surge of pro McCain support has raised McCain to a dead heat and possibly a slim lead in the polls. Check out the Washington Post edition of September 9,2008:
Sen. John McCain has wiped away many of Sen. Barack Obama's pre-convention advantages, and the race for the White House is now basically deadlocked at 47 percent for Obama and 46 percent for McCain among registered voters, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll. The presidential contest is also about even among those who are the most likely to vote in November: 49 percent for McCain, 47 percent for Obama.

Some Americans have decided that the Palin nomination was the deciding factor in their decision. The Palin candidacy has closed the "enthusiasm gap" in the Republican party .The media so far has treated Gov. Palin with kid gloves , almost afraid to touch her without offending womanhood and Christians. This will change as more is known about her. I am not referring to her family life ,I am referring to her governance in Alaska. Barack meanwhile has been passive in his campaign for fear of not wanting to upset some voters by apearing to be the angry black man. Therefore any attacks , and there will be many in the upcoming weeks will come from the vice presidential candidates . Barack and McCain will both strive to be presidential and take the high road , while the vice presidential nominees will take the low road .
Sarah "Barracuda” Palin versus Joey "Pit Bull" Biden ,it should be interesting. The McCain camp is buying the tonic that Biden and the Democrats will not attack Palin because it risks antagonizes the women supporters. Biden has indicated that Palin is fair game and that a debate is an debate . Its for the presidency ,the right to be the leader of the free world ,this will be different than conducting zoning meetings in Wasilla ,Alaska .Stay tuned for the fireworks and the fights.

There were 36 African-American delegates at the Republican Convention!

Who helped develop the platform the Republicans are running on? Who's Country is being put 'first'?

Exactly what America are the Republicans trying to 'rescue' and from whom?

From any objective standard this is turning into the grossest expression of desperation that we've ever seen in a presidential election.

I think that the country is very slowly beginning to see it for what it is.

Tubin had it right. The speech wasn't 'great'. It was smug, snide, and dismissive.

Hopefully we'll get beyond this infatuation and back to the substance of this election.

By selecting Sarah Palin, McCain has put a whole new spin on this election.Critized by some as foolish, one thing is certain for the next several weeks ,everyone will be talking about Sarah Palin.
Let me sum it up. Sarah Palin is the Republican Ann Richards.
Obama chose pourly in picking Joe Biden. Not a huge mistake on its own, but one that is out of step with his outsider image and a message of change.
However, the message of change is becoming one of the same left wing laundry list of issues.
Now, another mistake. Obama is running ads attacking McCain on abortion rights. What he misses is that Abortion issues are lighter fluid to the religious conservatives on the right, while actually being a ho-hum issue to liberals. Afterall, its legal. There would need to be a significant change in congress and the supreme court for that to change. And McCain is not that
particular agent of change.
Abortion is one of the classic wedge issues that is used to divide the center.
The others of course are gun control and school prayer.
Obama got to the convention on a message of change. Of course for the most part, he never defined that change. Now he is pandering to the far left wing of the democratic party and playing the old game.
If he looses, he has only himself to blame.

We must regard Sarah Palin as the Carmella Soprano of the GOP -- an enabling wife of organized crime, who sees, hears and speaks no evil of the boys in her old-boy network
for whom she does this ideological lap dance."
