Rev . Al Sharpton and Street Protests

I never met Rev. Al Sharpton and I don't agree with all of his protests. I must confess that I admire his tenacity in defending his perceived interests of Black America . Police brutality however is not a perceived interest , it is real in the African American community . The protests that Al has led to address this issue have to be done , and the proper forum is the streets . Street protests are as American as the "Boston Tea Party " . "The Boston Tea Party" could be categorized as the first American historical street protest. Most of all I admire the way Rev . Sharpton transformed himself and his image from the
processed wearing , sweat suited warrior to an suited and booted warrior for the causes of Black America . In closing check out what Rev. Al says about his image.
"Working with James Brown taught me something that black America must also learn -- to stop seeking the approval of white people or people in general and build your own image. I learned early on that if I was going to be successful, I had to define for myself my own set of standards, and I had to create my own image. I had to be me, regardless of what anyone else felt or thought about me."
